Ever since my first tattoo session at Gigiebear's private studio last 2018, I was already planning on what to add next! I was supposed to have my next session on April 2020 on her new studio, now Crimson River Tattoo but of course, the pandemic had other plans. Luckily, I was able to book for another birthday tattoo session on December 2021.

You've probably been debating if you should get a tattoo and thinking if it would look good on you. Well this is it — go for it! Yes, it will look good on you and stop thinking what other people will say as long as you really want to have it.

These tips could help you plan for your much awaited tattoo session!

1. Plan for your design and its placement

Since this will be permanent on your skin, it's best to get to have a design that you really want. Some prefer to have a tattoo because of a deep meaning while others just want to have certain work of art on them. Whichever the reason is, make sure it's something that you really want.

2. Do your research on the artist and studio/parlor

There are tons of tattoo artists who specialize on specific kind of design. Do you want black line? Watercolor tattoo? Botanical art? Portrait types? It's best to scout an artist that specializes on it.

It would be nice to check photos of the studio as well. You would definitely feel more at ease when the place is clean and has a comfortable ambiance.

3. Get ready for pain—the good kind, that is!

I guess it was a good thing to somewhat expect the worst kind of pain. LOL. The touch of the needle to the skin felt somewhat close to small electric currents flowing. This was what I felt during my recent session on my back and arm. It wasn't exactly the bad kind of pain; it was honestly a bit therapeutic. LOL. It was least painful compared to my first two sessions last 2018. The left rib and wrist felt like someone was pinching my skin using their nails (you get it.) But for some odd reason, when I was done with the first one I was already anticipating of getting another one.

4. Trust your artist!

If you already booked your appointment, congrats! Now all that's left is having it inked on your skin. It can be intimidating to think about the appointment but the reason why it's really important to research on your artist is that so you can be comfortable on the whole session and with the outcome of your ink.

The more comfortable you are with your artist, the more you can relax and just chill on the session!

With the one and only Gigiebear!

Yes, tattoos are permanent but it can also be one of the best ways for one to express themselves. After all, we don't really know what'll happen in the future so it would be best to just go for the "thing" you've been meaning to try.
