Looking at the photo, which coffee suits your taste? Plain black coffee? Coffee with creamer? Coffee with LOTS of creamer?

For me, I'd pick in a heartbeat the one in the center most. Coffee with creamer and sugar was how coffee was introduced to me. I recall seeing it from my parents; about 1/4 teaspoon coffee powder ('cause if you put the whole teaspoon, they say it'll taste bitter), add coffee mate (as how most Filipinos name creamers. Hehe) and sugar. Even when we got a coffee maker at home, I never saw my parents drink black coffee.

When I got the coffee drip bag from Tatak by Sissy, I was already thinking of preparing it the usual way I do: by adding creamer and sugar. I was somewhat prejudiced that I might not enjoy its own flavor but boy, I was sooooo wrong.

I got to try their decaf which has a full rounded body with a nutty and sweet finish and the special blend which is mild, clean but flavorful.

Even before I open the packaging, it already gives a hint of its aroma. I can't stop smelling it. LOL.

It smells even better when opened

I added about 8 ounces of water which was just the right amount for the cup.

At first try, it didn't have the bitterness I was dreading to taste. In fact, I kind of want to keep drinking. With every sip of the special blend comes the mild flavor of coffee and the slight hint of acidity to it. I was thinking if I needed to add sugar but it really tasted good on its own.

Trying the decaf made me excited as I was looking forward to its sweet finish based on its claim. Truth be told, the decaf was also really good. It's a surprise to me how it can have this sweetness at the end without the added sugar. The hint of the nutty flavor completes the experience and made me forget I still have the cup of the special blend. And now it's a cup of cold special blend coffee.

Speaking of cold coffee, I added ice to it and I think I like this cold brew just as much as the hot coffee.

I did not try it with creamer and sugar as I really appreciate this flavor of black coffee on its own.
